MachineReady was started in 2016 with the aim of helping Danish companies create value through artificial intelligence and specifically machine learning techniques.
We have been through the Internet era where we connected computers around the world and made it possible to communicate equally well if people sat across the globe or around the corner in the same city.
We have also experienced the mobile era in which media and entertainment consumers find a traditional computer unnecessary and choose to use a smartphone as their primary device.
The era that we are currently well into, could be called the algorithm era. This is where computers learn to perform tasks that require ever-increasing sophistication and intelligence. There will be areas where people will be completely replaced by algorithms, but in the vast majority of cases the algorithms will help us and supplement us in our work.
The algorithms for it belong to the area known as "Machine Learning". And whereas in the 60's and 70's, we were trying to make algorithms that should be artificial versions of humans (hence the term "artificial intelligence"), machine learning is now more focused on starting from what computers are already good at, namely, lightning fast calculations, and then gradually making the techniques a little smarter.
It has been found that with the help of these new techniques and the rapid development of the computing power, we have now seen a rapid development in what can be done with machine learning techniques. There is nothing to suggest that this rapid development will slow the in pace, quite the contrary.
The fact that algorithms will increasingly control many processes will require a huge reorganization of business - new small businesses will outperform large old companies with ever increasing frequency. And at the same time, the big companies will do what they can to fend off the small new entrepreneurial businesses. This is seen in companies such as Google, Facebook and Microsoft, which are all investing heavily in hiring the best researchers in machine learning.
MachineReady aims to help companies take advantage of this development. We can either help small businesses get to the top in one their area, or help large companies defend their market share. With many years of experience in software development in general and as a participant in the development that has taken place, we can help identify areas where a company can benefit from the new techniques, and subsequently lead the implementation in practice.
